The Saxonia collection from A. Lange & Söhne was created to pay homage to the German company's roots in the state of Saxony. In 2004, the brand made history by introducing the Double Split, the world's first double rattrapante chronograph. In addition to the standard split-seconds function, this timepiece boasts a second minute counter, allowing both pairs of hands to be stopped separately and then restarted together with a simple push. This remarkable mechanical achievement was the brainchild of a 15-year-old relaunch brand and served as a testament to what A. Lange & Söhne represents.

The first generation of the Double Split features classic Roman numerals, with the 12 o'clock marker forming an equilateral triangle with the two registers. The harmonious layout is well-designed, integrating seamlessly with A. Lange & Söhne's most beautiful movement.

While white metals and pink gold are the dominant selections in A. Lange & Söhne's lineup, yellow gold watches are an extremely rare find, particularly since the brand's initial releases in 1994. It is always a cause for celebration when a yellow gold A. Lange & Söhne timepiece appears on the market. The current lot is not only one of a 10-piece limited edition by the renowned German watchmaker, specifically crafted for the Japanese market, but it is also encased in alluring yellow gold. The rare grey dial is also not commonly seen in Lange watches, making this piece one of the rarest in the collection.
