The A. Lange & Söhne Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst reference 703.048 made its debut in 2021 as a limited edition of 30 pieces. Part of the Handwerkskunst series, which translates to 'craftsmanship', this line of limited edition watches was initiated in 2011 and places special emphasis on the artistic finishing techniques applied to the cases, movements, and dials.

The Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst stands as the seventh timepiece in the series. This watch pays tribute to the Cabaret Tourbillon introduced in 2008, a timepiece that marked a milestone as the world's first tourbillon featuring a hacking seconds function. Consequently, when the wearer pulls out the crown, a V-shaped spring descends onto the balance rim, instantly halting the tourbillon cage, enabling precise time adjustment.

The present lot represents the Handwerkskunst variation of this model, showcasing meticulously hand-finished decorations on both the dial and movement. The dial of the Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, crafted from solid white gold, showcases a hand-engraved lozenge pattern at its center, elegantly coated with a semi-transparent enamel layer, imparting an additional layer of depth to the engraving. Housed in a rectangular platinum case, the watch is powered by the caliber L042.1, the same movement utilized in the original Cabaret from 2008. The present lot features this movement, engraved with the same motif as that adorning the dial.
