H. Moser & Cie introduced the Pioneer collection in 2015. The name illustrated the fact that these watches were made to withstand extreme conditions. Therefore, the pink gold case had black DLC coated titanium inserts added, most noticeably between the lugs, to the screw-down crown and the caseback. Paired with a black rubber strap, the watch and its 42mm diameter has a strong sport appeal. Moser wanted to integrate what has made the reputation of the brand to its new model. They kept the smoked dial with elegant gold applied indexes and hands. They also equipped the watch with the in-house calibre HMC230 that can be admired through the sapphire display back. The movement is finished with the signature Moser “double stripes” decoration and has the Precision Engineering AG escapement. The PEAG is a company bought by Moser in 2012 and one of the few able to produce the alloys for the production of self-compensating hairsprings. To prove the efficiency of the component, the brand had the watches tested during a flight in zero gravity environment.
