The Elegante was first introduced in 2014 as a sporty lady’s watch after eight years of research. It was then made available as a men’s version in 2016. The concept of the present electro-mechanical watch features a mechanical motion detector visible on the dial at 4:30, when the watch is motionless, it will revert into stand by mode after 35 minutes to save its energy and the hands will stop turning. During the standby mode, the microprocessor continues to keep time, while the mechanical parts such as gears, rotors and hands will stop moving. When the watch is moved again, the hands sets themselves automatically to the current time.

This innovation is case in a tortue-shape case, which reminds the Vagabond design.

The circular luminescent dial keeps the traditional indexes and blued steel hands.

In 2019, FP Journe introduced the Titalyt, which consists in an electro-plasma oxidation of the grade 5 titanium case. It improves the resistance of the case. It can easily be differentiated by the standard version as it has a darker colour.

With these innovations and research, FP Journe transformed what was originally a lady’s watch into a robust yet ultra-light men sport watch.

The model is extremely difficult to source and this example is presented with its original guarantee and presentation case and is in very attractive condition.
