Description

depicting a boyar realistically modelled, standing with his right hand up to his beard, his left arm resting on the casket, the feet, sides, rims, hinges and handles chased, engraved and repoussé with pan-Slavic scrolls and branches, the cover hinged, with a gilt interior, the front panel engraved with the Cyrillic monogram GCh in pan-Slavic style, struck under base with maker's mark beneath the Imperial Warrant, 84 standard

A casket of nearly identical design by Khlebnikov was sold in London on 28 November 2007 for £228,500.
