Description

NIKE, NIKE SB DUNK LOW PREMIUM, SIZE 9

Rubber, Leather, Cotton, Synthetic

2016

In 2016, Nike released the Nike SB Dunk Low Premium ‘Big Foot’. Inspired by the legendary creature, the pair featured a Baroque Brown suede upper, and a semi-translucent brown mid and outsole. Additionally, the pair’s insole depicted a scenic forest, with an image of Big Foot.

Offered in this lot is an unreleased variation of the Nike SB Dunk Low Premium ‘Big Foot’. An incredibly rare sample, the pair features unique differences compared to the wider release. Most notably, the upper is dressed in a lighter brown, more textured suede, and the insole’s imagery is featured in green.

The Nike SB Dunk made its formal debut in 2002 when Nike officially reworked the famed Dunk basketball sneaker originally designed in the 1980s with upgrades suited for the skateboarding community. The man behind it, former Nike executive Sandy Bodecker, is credited with building one of Nike’s most beloved subdivisions in the early 2000s with the Nike SB line.

What sets Nike SB apart from other competitive brands is the unbridled creativity, collaborators, materials, and whimsical highly thematic designs that define a generation of sneakerheads. Nike has explored hundreds of concepts – often with a sense of humor – through its Nike Dunks. From designs that range from beer bottles to guitar cases to horror films, jewelry, animals, arts, and cities – the Dunks represent some of the most beloved and creative models for the brand.
