According to Gorham's Martelé archives, this pitcher was completed December 11, 1903 and had a net factory price of $240. It took William L. Hughes Jr. 60 hours to make, then another 90 hours of chasing by David Wilmot.

Larry Pristo notes of the single initial P that it is found on Martele pieces between 1903-5, but the significance is not known at the present time, Martele 950-1000 Fine, Gorham’s Nouveau Art Silver, 2002, p.160
