A Flemish Game Park Tapestry Fragment, Oudenaarde, last quarter 16th century


Finely woven depicting a formal garden in the background and central foreground walking figures, some equestrian figures and various others participating with their hounds in bull hunts in the landscape foreground; a horizontal section across the lower section of a once larger tapestry, now mounted within a wooden frame

 

Frame: 81.5cm high, 244cm wide; 2ft. 6in., 8ft.

Tapestry visible: 71cm high, 234cm wide; 2ft 3in., 7ft. 6in.
