with composition agate paneled handles, bordered by chased gold running flowers and leaves, with one gold and one steel blade, the gold with leaf discharge mark for circa 1785, cock for 3rd standard 1798-1809, and unclear maker’s mark and two other marks, the steel blade stamped Defave, in shagreen etui with gold button and hinge
