of lobed urn form, raised on slender fluted panel supports topped by paterae and ending in leaf-topped paws above a circular base fitted with matching urn-form lamp, drop-ring handles suspended from coiled leaves, shallow domed cover with sliding bud finial, engraved with contemporary crest and coronet throughout, fully marked

The crest and coronet are those of Talbot, Earls of Shrewsbury, probably for Charles, 15th Earl, who married in 1792 Elizabeth, eldest daughter of James Hoey of Dublin. He died without issue in 1827, when the honors devolved on his nephew John, 16th Earl.
