A gold and semi-precious stone-set quarter repeating verge watch

Circa 1825


• Movement: gilded full plate, verge escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver regulation plate, chain fusee, two polished steel hammers repeating on coiled gongs, Geneva stop-work to the winding square

• Dial: gold engine-turned dial, decoratively engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals, outer minute ring, blued steel moon hands

• Case: gold, with matt stippled ground, applied vari-colour pink and green gold decoration, set with semi-precious stones, the pendant and bow similarly decorated, plunge pendant repeat, case back numbered 3253, polished gold cuvette with aperture for winding, signed Lhoest à Paris, no. 693
