Part one only (without the Aeneid), folio (305 x 200mm.), title printed in red and black within architectural woodcut border, numerous woodcut illustrations including a full-page cut at †ii, nineteenth-century half morocco over marbled boards, title and following leaf with repairs, loss, and facsimile re-instatement, a few other repairs

The numerous woodcuts were originally used for the Grüninger Strassburg edition of 1502, edited by Sebastian Brant, whose verse address to the reader appears here on the verso of the title-page. The text was prepared by Jodocus Badius Ascensius and was first published in this form in Paris, 1500–1501.
