4to (223 x 157mm.), woodcut Estienne device on title-page, woodcut Hebrew initials, old limp vellum with modern lettering on spine, lacking final leaf with colophon, a few marginal wormholes, small marginal tear in Ss2, hinges broken, lacking two pairs of ties
Second edition of Pagninus’s edition of David Kimchi’s twelfth-century Hebrew dictionary, called Sefer HaShorashim, or the book of roots, revised by Robert Estienne.
