Warmly inscribed by the author to an unidentified recipient: "To Mary with love from Rob, 1925". Graves rarely uses the diminutive form of his Christian name in inscriptions, suggesting that the recipient was a close friend or family member (possibly his older half-sister of that name, since another occasion he signed as "Rob" was when inscribing a different title to another sister, Rosaleen-Louise). A very good copy.
