Description
Ezra Pound
Hugh Selwyn Mauberley. [London:] the Ovid Press, 1920
FIRST EDITION, NUMBER 90 OF 200 NUMBERED COPIES, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, 8vo, title-device, decorative initials and colophon device by Edward Wadsworth, original boards, (dust-jacket not called for), binding slightly bowed, dampstain to lower board
Inscribed by the author to "BCW" (Bernard C. Windeler) in August 1920. Windeler was a friend of Pound, and his book Elinus was published by Three Mountains Press, who also published Pound's Indiscretions as part of the same series.
There have only been two inscribed copies of this title at auction since 1974, although one of them (to Scofield Thayer) has appeared three times. A very good copy of an important (and now scarce) book.
LITERATURE
