A volume containing important sources for the history of the late antique period, written by Eusebius in the 320s, with continuations into the fifth century by Sozomen, Socrates and Theodoret.

In the same year, Robert Estienne also printed Eusebius's works De evangelica praeparatione and De evangelica demostratione (see lot 75) in the same elegant Greek typefaces. The binding of this volume was made to match the binding of the companion volume.
