small folio (265 x 185mm.), title within historiated woodcut border, verso of title-page within woodcut border, woodcut initials, modern leather, lacking A1 containing portrait only, small area of damage and repair to title affecting a small area of the border and a few words on the verso, cut close at head (a couple of headlines shaved), occasional foxing or staining, extremities slightly rubbed
The translation by Diego López de Toledo was first printed in Toledo in 1498.
Eguia was the son-in-law and successor of Guillén de Brocar. The text on the verso of the title-page, Eguia's dedication, is in italic type, which was first used in Spain the previous year by Cromberger of Seville.
