This under-life-size head is likely to represent a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty, such as Queen Arsinoe III, for instance; cf. Yale University Art Gallery, inv. 1998.23.10 (http://artgallery.yale.edu/collections/objects/74401) and Sotheby's, New York, December 12th-13th, 1991, no. 71.
