Oblong folio album (270 x 380mm.), 100 albumen print photographs (each c.275 x 220mm.), mounted recto and verso on card mounts, some captioned in the negative, contemporary maroon morocco album, spine in compartments, upper cover titled 'Égypte', gilt edges, silk endpapers, some fading or slight wear to images, mounts slightly bowed, extremities rubbed


A colleciton of views and ethnographic portraits, many depicting the costume of Egypt and Sudan. 45 of the photographs in this album are identifiable from their captions as the work of the leading commercial photographers of the time: 26 are by the Zangaki brothers, 9 by Pascal Sébah, 6 by Hippolyte Arnoux, 3 by Gabriel Lekegian & Co., and one by Félix Bonfils.
