Edo period, circa 1661-1673
Sugata [configuration]: Shinogi-zukuri, shallow tori-zori, chu-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: Ko-itame hada
Hamon [tempering pattern]: Suguha in niedeki, active ashi and ha, mellowed nioikuchi
Boshi [tip]: Rounded kaeri boshi
Nakago [tang]: Iriyama-gata, one mekugi ana, the omote signed Taishu (Tsushima) ju Fujiwara Kiyotoshi (Fujiwara Kiyotoshi, a resident of Tsushima Province)
Habaki [collar]: Gold, single clad
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]
Koshirae [mount]: The later black lacquer saya [scabbard] with ishime ground, the fuchi-kashira [hilt-band and pommel] decorated in shakudo and gilt with autumnal oak leaves and chrysanthemums, the associated round iron tsuba inlaid in gold with geometric pattern, signed Shoami
