the chamfron boldly modelled in the form of a dragon's head, decorated overall in black lacquer and gold leaf, cheek guards, the underside with red and silver lacquer to the dragon's mouth and teeth, with a fitted wood storage box 

61 cm., 24 in. long

The horse mask with some areas of minor surface wear including rubbing and fading to the gold leaf revealing the black lacquer beneath, consistent with age and use, some small black lacquer repairs to some of the dragon's teeth and a few small areas where pigment has possibly been re-applied.
