The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by the Association Felix Ziem, represented by Mathias Ary Jan, David Pluskwa and Gérard Fabre and it will be included in the catalogue raisonné.

The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of craquelure visible. There are some losses to a small area of approximately 3.5cm to the centre lower edge. There is a discoloured varnish layer which is visible under ultra-violet light. There does not appear to be any retouching or restoration.
