附帶後補資料庫精粹

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. All functions are working properly. The minute repeating is chiming with a nice tone and clarity. The dial is exactly the same as when it was sold in 2004. The minute track and registers are not straight and crooked throughout. It would look as if they were intended to be this way as it is so bizarre and a very strange finish. There are a couple of minor spots too to the centre from aging. After extensive further research, the watch was sold at auction in the 1990s and the minute track and other registers are straight and not crooked. Therefore, one can only assume that somehow the finish used on the dial must have extended and contracted to have caused such aging effect. The case is exceptionally well preserved, it is nice and heavy and has very strong definition throughout with very nice case lines. The movement made in 1875 is very well preserved and it is important to note that the present watch is a unique piece.

Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts.

You are advised that watch straps or bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator or crocodile) are not sold with the watch and we reserve the right to remove these straps or bands prior to shipping.
