The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc., an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's:

This painting is nicely stretched on its period stretcher. The canvas has an old glue lining. The paint layer is clean and stable. The sky is noticeably yellow, and may have darkened slightly over time. A few restorations can be seen under ultraviolet light. One small retouching can be seen in the upper left corner, another small retouching is visible in the lower right corner, and there is a small restoration just above the center of the horizon. Several tiny, carefully-placed lines of retouching can be seen within the large, thinly-painted trees. There are some very small retouches on the very top and bottom edges, which address minor frame abrasion. This painting is in good condition and should be hung as is.

Framed Dimensions: 29 1/4 by 39 in. (74.3 by 99 cm.)
