A pair of English specimen marble tops on ebonised bases,

20th century


each rectangular top with fifty octagons of various coloured marbles bordered with lines of portoro and white marbles, the bases with dentil moulded friezes, each on six square moulded supports 

87cm. high, 139.2cm. wide, 76cm. deep; 2ft. 10½in., 4ft. 6¾in., 2ft. 5⅞in.

In overall good conserved condition. The ebonised wood with minor rubbing to edges and corners otherwise with minor old marks, scuffs and scratches all consistent with age and use. The middle back leg of one table is detached and would benefit from being permanently glued back - at this moment, if the leg is simply slotted in, the table does seem to be stable.


The tops in good conserved condition with very minor old marks, scuffs and losses and scratches consistent with age and use. Some repaired cracks which have been well repaired.
