Conceived in 1903 and cast in bronze by 1925.

This work is recorded in the archives of the Rembrandt Bugatti Conservatoire, Paris.

Cast in bronze using the lost wax method. The bronze has a rich dark brown patina showing faint signs of handling on the tips of the ears and the lion’s back and around some of the base. There is a little surface dirt in the crevices. This work is in excellent condition.
