This platinum-palladium print is in generally excellent condition. The margins are ever-so-slightly darkened in a thin band at the periphery of the image. There is minor soiling along the extreme left margin edge.
On the reverse, the following are written in pencil in Penn's hand: 'P1654 [circled]'; and 'Platinum-palladium / Print made August 1976 / single coating, multiple printing.' Written in an unidentified hand in pencil is 'IB.'
The reverse is stamped 'deacidified' and 'Hand-coated by the photographer,' with the photographer's signature in pencil. The photographer's copyright stamp is annotated '1950' in pencil; and the edition stamp notes in pencil that no more than '38' platinum prints and '12' gelatin silver prints 'of a similar negative' are in existence.
