The stylised features and all'antica hairstyle with virtuoso ringlets is very similar to the heads of female figures carved by members of the celebrated Miseroni workshop. Compare, for example, with the head of Venus from the Venus and Cupid group attributed to Giovanni Ambrogio Miseroni (circa 1551/2-1616) in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (inv. no. KK 1730). Compare also with Giovanni Ambrogio's group from the lid of a hardstone cup recently acquired by the Louvre (inv. no. OA10305).
