This painting repeats a composition by Sebastiano Ricci in the Accademia, Venice (now on loan to the Fondazione Cini, San Giorgio) which was one of three works by Ricci painted for the Church of the Monastery of SS. Cosma e Damiano alla Giudecca, Venice, probably in 1718-20.1
