The canvas is not lined. Inspection under UV light reveals a milky varnish through which UV light cannot fully penetrate. UV light does reveal, however a few tiny specks of possible historic retouching to some minor losses to the right edge corresponding to frame abrasion, no further obvious signs of retouching are visible. There are some losses to the pigment in places, the largest of which are to the impasto in the grass in the lower right quadrant and to the grass and tree to the left of the composition. There are some fine lines of craquelure to the thicker pigments only visible upon very close inspection. There is some frame abrasion to all four edges. There is some surface dirt and tiny surface accretions to the composition. This work is in overall good condition and would benefit from a clean.
