Condition:

This work is in good condition. The canvas is not lined. There is fine hairline craquelure throughout. There are tiny specs of paint loss in the upper right corner on the top of the figure’s head and one next to the figure’s left shoulder. There is stabilised craquelure in places on the figure. There is superficial surface dirt. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals areas of small retouching on the figures chin and shoulder, and reveals unusual fluorescence not entirely consistent with retouching and may be artist’s alterations. This work has not been examined outside of its frame. Work is in artist’s frame.
