Trouville, scène de plage, le parasol jaune

signed E. Boudin (lower right), dedicated indistinctly à Mme Paulet and dated 87 (lower left)

oil on panel

14.7 by 25cm., 5¾ by 9⅞in.

Framed: 26.5 by 36.7cm., 10½ by 14½in.

Painted in 1887.

The panel is sound and UV inspection does not reveal any signs of retouching. There is some extremely minor frame abrasion to parts of the extreme edges, with a few tiny associated paint losses. There are some extremely fine lines of craquelure in places, mainly to the white clouds, and some very minor localised paint shrinkage, both of which are only visible on very close inspection. There are two tiny accretions to the lower edge. This work is in overall very good condition.
