The board and artist's backboard appear stable and providing a sound support. The artist's backboard has marks and abrasions throughout in line with the artist's working practice and materials. Some light spots of staining to the backboard in places and some specks of matter and surface dirt. The raised board appears to be in excellent condition. Some rubbing to extreme edges and rounding of the lower left and upper right hand corners. Some surface dirt and specks of matter. Overall the work is in excellent condition. UV light inspection reveals no evidence of any retouching or restoration. A few spots of fluorescence in the lower portion of the artist's backboard, these appear to be original pigments. Held under glass in a gilt wooden frame.
