open: 11.8 by 9.4cm., 4⅝ by 3¾in. (including open wings)

leather case: 15 by 16.5 by 3.5cm., 6 by 6½ by 1⅜in.

Given the age and fragility of the object, the prayer nut is in overall excellent condition. There is minor dirt and wear consistent with age. There is a minor glue repair to the bottom of the inscription around the Crucifixion, above the hinge. There are also minor glue residues around the hinges of the wings, indicating possible repairs. There are a few very small losses to the wings around the hinges. A hairline split or possible joint is slightly visible running horizontally through the centre of the left wing. There appear to be minor losses to some of the lances in the Crucifixion. The wood has a slightly paler colouring in areas, including the exterior of the wings and the top 'ceiling' above the Crucifixion. There are a few very small losses to the tracery on the exterior and a minor loss to the exterior of the main hinge.

There is general wear to the velvet lined leather box, consistent with age.
