There acquired. 
Born in Transylvania and of German descent, Tobias Stranover traveled between Germany, the Netherlands, and England, where he eventually settled and became one of the leading emigré decorative painters.  He drew inspiration from Melchior d'Hondecoeter and in London he was a pupil of Jakob Bogdány, whose daughter Elisabeth he married.
