Leaping Fish Vase

impressed with St Ives and Leach Pottery seals (lower side)

stoneware with a white glaze and black paint

height: 37.5cm.; 14¾in.

width: 16.5cm.; 6½in.

Executed circa early 1960s.

No obvious damages or restoration. There appear to be a few firing faults, most notably a small glazed over chip to the rim from the time of manufacture.

There is also a slight difference in colour to the fish on one side, again from the time of manufacture. There is some light pitting to the surface. There is a very slight chip to the foot rim which appears to be worn down and most likely again from the time of manufacture.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light.
