Comprising of: A pair of classical needlework cushions, French, Beauvais, mid 18th century, of rectangular format, worked in petit-point with a scene possibly of Venus on her swan chariot, followed by Cupid with a torch, with a sleeping Psyche on the rocky sea shore below, the other with Arion and his lyre, riding on a dolphin, with tritons in the background, all within delicate scroll frames, against a dark brown background with flowers, the backing of later lime green silk with complementary cream and green passementerie (each approximately 46 by 57cm); a pair of Aesop’s Fable scene tapestry panel cushions, French, Aubusson, 18th century, of rectangular format, the horizontal laurel wreath enclosing a scene from the story of the Goat and the Dog and the Wolf and the Sheep respectively, within river settings, against a cerise outer ground with floral swags around the edges, the backing of later green and copper shot silk taffeta and polychrome fringed passementerie (each approximately 57 by 59cm); another pair of animal scene tapestry panel cushions, French, Aubusson, 18th century, of rectangular format, one with scene from the Aesop story of the Stork and the dog, and another of a dog attacking a boar, within landscape settings and floral surrounds and gold acanthus leaves, the backing of later apple green linen applied with cream and green passementerie (each approximately 48 by 55cm)
