A Samson porcelain mantel timepiece in the manner of 18th century Meissen, French, circa 1880


2½-inch enamel dial, the movement with Brocot suspension, the drum contained within a flower-draped pedestal surmounted by a flaming brazier and flanked by a couple in Classical dress and holding flaming hearts, the underside with underglaze blue Augustus Rex mark

34.5cm 13½in high: 33cm 13in wide
