Reference 1680 was the first ever Submariner to feature a date and a cyclops lens in the plexi glass. The matt black dial is decorated by yellow gold markers, eventually gaining the nickname the “nipple dial”. The text of depth had feet in front of meters, indicating it to be a later model in the references production.
