Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe’s reference 5078 is certainly one of the world’s finest and most extraordinary minute repeaters. It was launched initially in 2008 in white gold on a white enamel dial, then 2010 in white gold but with a black lacquered dial. Finally in 2014, the platinum version was launched, alongside the present pink gold example.  

The case of the reference 5078 is reminiscent of classic Patek Philippe vintage pieces, highlighted with its 38 mm concave shape and elongated lugs. The dial is crafted in enamel and features the text “Email” at the bottom, which is furthermore decorated with Roman numerals and a railway minute track, elevating its sophistication. The movement side on the other hand, is something out of the ordinary. Housing the automatic calibre R 27 PS which consists of 342 painstakingly crafted components, its architecture is fully exposed under the sapphire crystal display back.
