Ten-Light “Lily” Lamp

circa 1910

favrile glass, gilt bronze

seven shades engraved L.C.T.; two shades engraved L.C.T. Favrile

base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/381

21¼ in. (55.2 cm) high

Overall in very good condition. The shades appear to be an assembled set with luminous jewel-tones to the iridescence when viewed with reflected light. Each shade with scattered minor air bubbles, particulate inclusions and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually distracting. Each shade with some scattered extremely minor and faint surface scratches consistent with age and gentle handling. The upper apertures of each shade with some extremely minor wear and minute flecks resulting from contact with the shade fitters, consistent with age and handling and not visible when the shades are installed.  The gilt bronze base throughout presents with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, wear and discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling. The bronze with some occasional oxidation spots and traces of surface soiling particularly concentrated to the recessed contours of the design. With a period base switch which presents with small verdigris spots to one side, not visually distracting. With period sockets.  An attractive example of this iconic and sculptural Lily lamp model.
