25½ in. (64.8 cm) high
18¼ in. (46.3 cm) diameter of shade
Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand, the shade displays a particularly artistic glass selection featuring large poppy blossoms articulated in a range of brilliant red hues, with the poppy centers showing a range of jewel-tone hues in blues, purples and greens against a highly varied ground of greens, mauves and soft cobalts. The shade with approximately 5 hairlines dispersed throughout, which have recently been sensitively stabilized by a professional glass conservator. The shade with some minor traces of surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines, consistent with age. The “Chased Pod” base displays a particularly rich variegated russet-brown and green patina, and is in overall very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces present with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, wear and discolorations, consistent with age and gentle handling. The bronze with some occasional oxidation spots and traces of surface soiling particularly concentrated to the recessed contours of the design. With later replaced sockets. A superb example of the model displaying a richly saturated and stunning glass selection.
