A jewelled gold and enamel Royal presentation snuff box, Alexandre-Raoul Morel, Paris, circa 1835


rectangular, the lid applied with the crowned interlaced Royal cipher of Louis Philippe, King of the French, set with graduated diamonds, on a finely matted ground, framed by a narrow dark blue enamel border with chased scrolling and floral foliage, the sides and base similarly decorated with broad leafy borders picked out in polished gold on a sablé ground around diaper engine-turning, maker's markParis 3ème titre et grosse garantie 1819-1838, the left rim numbered: 5, the other side numbered: 3,  in fitted red leather case, the base stamped: MAIGNAN / Joaillier de la Reine / RUE ST HONORÉ N°177
