the first a silver niello example, Louis Bruneau, Paris, circa 1845, rectangular, all sides decorated in a geometrical band pattern, 8.2cm., 3 1/4 in. wide; the second a small silver niello bonbonniere of similar date, also Paris, decorated with stylised tulip foliage, silver thumbpiece, maker's mark rubbed, post-1838 guarantee mark, 4.5cm., 1 3/4 in. diameter; the third a shallow rectangular box with curved lid and base, protruding thumbpiece, Paris, 1835-1838 inventory mark, and Dutch import mark, 6.6 cm., 2 5/8 in. wide; the fourth a parcel-gilt silver niello example, rectangular, the lid decorated with a village party, the waisted sides and base with a scale pattern, 1840-1879 French export mark, 8.6cm., 3 3/8 in. wide; the fifth rectangular with spot-hammered decoration, A&J Zimmerman, Birmingham 1911, 10cm., 4 1/4in. wide; the sixth with chased scrolls and hidden compartment in the lid, probably Schwabisch Gmund, Franz K, late 18th century, 7.6cm., 3in wide
