A silver casket, attributed to Michel Mann, Nuremberg early 17th century

Rectangular, engraved with Romayne busts and classical figures, the base engraved with flowers, with central dummy keyhole, the central strap below the handle hinged to reveal a hidden keyhole, opening to reveal an elaborate steel mechanism, with working key.

8.5cm.; 3 1/4in wide
