Simon de Passe (c. 1595–1647) was a German-born engraver working in England from 1616 to 1624, after which he moved to Copenhagen where he was appointed royal engraver and designer of medals. He contributed a number of engravings to Henry Holland's 1618 work Bazililogia, A Booke of Kings.

Eric Delieb notes that de Passe "...invented a method whereby a steel die was cut and wafer-thin disks of silver were struck with motifs, thereby imitating engraving by hand." (Eric Delieb, Silver Boxes, London, 1986, p. 17).
