Featuring a pear-shaped citrine in a wirework surround decorated with plique-à-jour enamel in blended shades of pink and green, the bail and chain with smaller wirework and plique-à-jour enamel motifs set with round citrines.

A variation of the design of this necklace is published in Louis Comfort Tiffany at Tiffany & Co. by John Loring, pp. 55-56. Referred to as “Orientalist”, it is set with a tear drop-shaped opal surrounded by small round sapphires, whereas the example offered here reflects more autumnal hues in the honey-colored pear-shape framed by small round citrines. Both examples feature necklace chains with fancy-shaped links of plique-a-jour enamel and faceted stones. Tiffany’s archival photograph of the opal necklace is dated to about 1909, during the period of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s collaborations with Julia Munson.
