Private collection, Italy

This console with mirror is an elegant example of Fontana Arte's production in the early 1930s, one of the first collaborations between Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa. Both pieces are richly decorated with natural motifs embellished with brass elements and a typical Ponti’s brass coping. These combined pieces of furniture were not produced in a serial way, but in a few number mainly on special commission.

The lot is sold together with a certificate of expertise from the Gio Ponti Archives
