A set of nine Minton pierced 'Still Life' plates, 1880


each well painted with a still life of flowers and leaves issuing from precious objects within a border pierced and gilt with paterae and key pattern, printed crowned globe marks and retailer's mark for T. Goode and Co., London, impressed marks, registration lozenge for 1874 and year cyphers

each 24cm. diameter

The first example painted with purple flower issuing from an Iznik jug on a tile.
Another painted with blossom issuing from an amethyst colour façon de Venise vase resting on a green-glazed pottery inkwell.
One painted with an Egyptian marbled glass amphora on stand, issuing yellow blooms.
Another painted Russian cloisonné enamel beaker on gilt-bronze stand issuing pink roses.
And five with precious antique Chinese objects comprising a crackleware pinecone vase, a double gourd shape vase on a lacquered and marble table, a turquoise glaze vase in the form of funghi beside a celadon coloured vessel on a lacquered tray, a cloisonné vase decorated with waterlilies, and a rectangular qilong vase.
