A George III ebony- and boxwood-strung, rosewood- and mahogany-banded satinwood secrétaire cabinet, circa 1780


the upper section with an arched moulded cornice and four later finials above a pair of astragal glazed doors, enclosing two previously adjustable drawers and with a later silk-lined interior, the lower section with a secrétaire drawer, the fall front opening to reveal an arrangement of pigeonholes and short drawers with a later gilt-tooled green leather inset writing surface, above three graduated drawers with later handles in verre églomisé and brass, on splayed bracket feet
